COVENTRY Buildbase Bees have agreed to contest a Challenge fixture at Premier League club Glasgow on Sunday, March 21 (4pm).
Bees will be opening the Tigers' home season, and will be making their first-ever trip to Ashfield.
They will be taking a strong team north of the border, with only No.1 rider Chris Harris missing due to a commitment in Poland.
The top three will therefore be Edward Kennett, Rory Schlein and Ben Barker, with the top five completed by Christian Hefenbrock and Filip Sitera. Josh Auty and Aaron Summers will race at reserve.
Both Schlein and Summers have extensive experience of the Ashfield circuit as both are former Edinburgh riders, who will therefore have made several visits to Glasgow.
Bees boss Alun Rossiter said: "We asked the riders if they wanted to take this meeting on, and they felt it would be a worthwhile exercise.
"It's more track-time for them ahead of the start of the Elite League, and it's good for Glasgow to be able to attract opponents from the top league, so hopefully they will get a good crowd. I'm sure plenty of Coventry fans will be interested in travelling up there."
